First Egg Countdown

Went to go give my girls some leftovers from dinner, and found this in their run. Now they need to figure out the comfy next boxes!

What a day for this post, as we got our first egg today!!! One of our Rocks laid an egg, at 19 weeks, on the nose!

It is so fun to see everyone get their first egg! The only thing that would make it better is, well, if it was in our coop! LOL

My TSC chicks were born on February 28th and I bought them a day later on March 1st. I have been WAITING (patiently) ever since for an egg!
One afternoon I happened to glance inside the coop. I was SO EXCITED to FINALLY see an egg inside one of the nest boxes.

Here’s a pic of my first egg! It was laid by one of my Easter Eggers (17 weeks old). Two days later she laid another one about the same size.

This first egg cost me roughly $2,000.
The 25cent egg from my refrigerator is below it for size comparison.

And here is a pic (taken today) of the EE that laid the egg:

I got my first 2 eggs from my 19 week old EE's yesterday.

The one that laid the greenish egg is named Blue, because when she was a chick she was all light blue-grey colored and not a chipmunk. Now she's feathered out to be red and white and lays green eggs. I think I thoroughly misnamed that one. The other egg has very small white spots everywhere. I'm still waiting on the other two. They, for some reason, are not displaying any of the egglaying signs the two who just laid were(their combs got brighter and then two days later they started squating then a few days later egg!), so it may be a few more weeks. idk.

I think all my facebook friends are sick of egg pictures so i'm bringing it here.

13 young ladies 16 to 18 weeks old still waiting but they are showing signs..bigger and reder combs and wattles somebody is checking out the door way of the nesting boxes

come on ladies i know you can do it......
