First Egg Countdown

I know the first egg, double yolk, came from my Rhode Island White. I found her in the nesting box laying another egg this morning. No more doubles yet but beautiful eggs all the same. Now I just need to figure out the other one.

No eggs yet 'brownie' is 20 weeks comb getting redder alot of chatter all day long and no egg. I'm about to give up on looking everyday.

I've been watching this thread for entertainment and my only post has been about how much fun it is. Ok, the fun's over. Flora squatted for me today and I was shocked. I'm officially joining this thread. Our barred rocks are nineteen weeks old. Flora has been red for a couple of weeks and has a gorgeous wattle. Greta is red with a smaller wattle and has been giving half-hearted squats. Ruthie is just turning red and has a tiny wattle. A few days ago Ruthie was extremely interested in the plastic egg in the nesting box. Flora joined her at some point and the two of them watched it intently. They've been spending a lot of time in the coop the last couple of days. They've been talking a lot whenever they are in the coop. I'm going away Friday. Any chance the first egg will come before I go? Bok.

My girls are 20 weeks old next Tuesday. The buff just squatted for me yesterday, so I am super close!!! Can't wait for that first egg.

Also, what is the thingy that holds eggs and is spiral called? I saw it on here a few weeks ago and now can't find as I would love to have one on my kitchen counter!!!

Thanks!!!! The funny thing is is that the buff is the only one with the small comb and wattle!!! the br and the rr both have the large bright red combs and wattles!!!
