First Egg Countdown

Today is Martha's 18 week birthday, and she gave us a present!

These are our first chickens - and so - our very first egg.

just got my first 2 at 18.5 weeks...and they were both in the nest box!

I have 3 easter egger hens that are almost 21 weeks and still no eggs.. Im wondering if them seeing their rooster culled is going to affect them in any way... I sure hope not..

Nelly was insistent that she come investigate the house. So I let her in and she looked in every room and in every corner and could not find a good place to lay her egg. So I told her there are 5 nice, dry, secluded nesting boxes in HER house.

Guess where she is right now?


I dont know if she's laying or what, but she's been in that box for a few minutes....
