First Egg Countdown

Time for me to jump in to the countdown! I've sooooo enjoyed reading through this thread... it's my new fave entertainment...

My Barred Rock, Agnes, has had red comb and wattles for a couple of weeks now, and she FINALLY squatted for me today. She's always been standoff-ish, but lately has stopped running madly away from me and today she actually let me touch her a few times and then once did the squat. Of course, I tried to get her to do it again and she wouldn't (little stinker! hee hee). But I was soooo excited to see a squat at least once.

Here's Agnes. It should be soon, right?

I know I just posted here, but we got our first EE egg today! It's so pretty! It's blue-green, but a little more on the green side. I was surprised at how bright the color was, I was half-expecting a dull gray since she came from hatchery stock. The egg weighed 1.4 oz

The other eggs are from my Cinnamon Queens and they weigh 1.5, 1.7, and 1.9 oz.

Pretty girls, I like chicken pictures lol. Congratulations on all the new eggs everyone!

My BO finally laid her first egg today. She is 26 weeks old. So now I am waiting on an EE and My brown leghorn. I think my 25 week old silkie may laid before them. At least she is sitting in the nest.
