First egg ever!!!!...who laid it????

I'm wicked exited because i have two chickens, that I got as chicks, and yesterday night, I got my first egg!!!!

The thing is though, I'm wondering who laid it???
I have a Rhode Island White named gladyss,
and a Silkie/barred rock mix.
They are both 19 weeks old.
They egg I got was brown, pretty small, but perfectly shaped. some speckleing i think too, but not really.?.?

My question is which girl do you think laid it???

I would guess the RIW, but there's really no way to tell since they will both lay brown eggs.

I don't know, but it's a very pretty egg. I like the speckling!

I have 4 brown egg layers, so unless I catch somebody in the act, I'll never know who's started laying and who hasn't

rhode island lays brown, barred rock lays brown and silkie white eggs. They both can lay this egg because 1 is mix with a brown egg layer.
But I would say the red .
It doesn't really matter the best thing is you got your reward . A yummy egg.

I dont know! Just keep watching them and soon you will catch one in the nest box! Thats what we did with my chickens... now we know who lays what color eggs so we can tell who is laying and who is SLACKING! *cough* cough* PETUNIA!!!:lol
