One of our black sex links has been laying eggs for a few weeks now. This morning, one of the buff orpingtons (21 weeks) was sitting in the nesting box when I went out to clean the coop. Two hours later she was singing the egg song, and the black sex link joined in. There were two eggs in the box!
I am pretty sure she laid a soft shell egg two nights ago, because I found the membrane while cleaning out the coop, and our black sex link laid her egg that day as usual.
