First Egg Sale!

Whooohooooooo! Way to go!

I've been using my eggs as trades. I'm afraid to take people's money... and I don't have enough to give a lot. So I just slap some over to whomever has gotten us things we needed for the chickens.

If I was you, I'd keep on selling... they'll eventually pay for themselves

(Mine own me at least $300 right now. )

Caution to everyone...check your local ordinances. Mine here are a little squirley. I can have as many birds as I want but can not sell the eggs from my home because that would be a business even though I have five acres of land that is concidered large enough to fit into right to farm laws. On the other hand, I own a 1 acre plot two miles away that sits in the middle of several farms and is zoned Ag/light industrial. From there I can sell any ag product I want to....even if it is grown here at my house. Go figure.

I plan on charging $4/dozen for mine. That's slighty less than you can buy organic, cage-free eggs for at the grocery store. I need more chickens!
