First Egg Today (pics)! That's why they were so squaky!

The past week one of our 19-week RIR and BO have been louder than usual clucking and squaking. Mid-morning today found our first egg--right in the nest box! We opened the boxes up last Sun and put a few golf balls in. I guess they got the hint. Just wish I knew which of the three girls laid the egg! Oh well.

Its so exciting. I have never had fresh farm eggs before so i will probably pass out when i get a taste of a real fresh farm egg.

If you can, be there watching them at the same time tommorow. For me it was clear the next day who had started laying. It was the one making all of the noise and wandering around like she wasn't sure what was happening.
