First egg TODAY!!!

The gals were free-ranging in the yard for a few hours today, and when I put them back in the henhouse, little Lizzie went straight for a nestbox. She's been squatting for a week and a half. I hoped and checked a few hours later and voila! My first farm egg in over 20 years! Husband is making homemade biscuits to eat with our egg to celebrate right now!

Now if we can just work on the size of the egg...

It is an exciting day. Now the next 2 weeks will be excruiating if you have to work or leave the house. You'll be wondering did they lay today. Did the others join her? Is today my first 2 egg day?
