First egg?

We think one of our girls is laying her first egg. She is 19 weeks. She choose a box and she’s been in there about an hour. She keeps scratching it with her feet and she’s breathing with her mouth open. Her butt also looks like it’s pulsating... is this all normal?

That is all completely normal behavior for a first time layer. Once she becomes comfortable with the routine it will be second nature to her. Good luck with your flock and enjoy those eggs!!!!!
