Just found this egg in the nest box! My official “1st egg“. Granted I do have an olive egger that lays when she feels like it, but I bought her as an adult, so I don’t think this counts!
I suspect this is one of my Silkies, Zelda, as she has become sweeter lately and there is evidence of her feathers in the nest box. Frankie my F2 red sex link, has been squatting and was checking out the same nest box earlier today but I would expect her eggs to be a little bit bigger and darker in color. So I am assuming it’s the Silkie! Photo of the egg next to a grade A large grocery store egg for comparison.
I expect to all of a sudden get quite a few eggs as many of the girls are squatting!

It is a pretty nice thrill after all! I hatched this little bugger back in May, so fun to see things go full circle!
