First Egg

One of our freeloading duck decided to pay us back with her first egg. 6 month on the money. 8 more girls to go...

This morning we let the ducks out as usually and she runs off with the egg stuck to her butt. So we had to catch her, which she didn't want to happen. We finally got her after running for 2 minutes after her. The egg was stuck to her butt feathers and it is a miracle that she did not shatter it running around with it stuck to her rear end while running on full speed. Boy was she happy when I got it off her butt. So she is now a full grown duck with the work load cut out for her. No babies until spring, just wonderful eggs for us.

The egg is fine and awaiting company in the fridge for a mega omelet.

I'm sure Shadow was not so happy having it hanging on her butt. Right now they are all really happy, because it has rained all night long after months without it.
