We found our first eggs today. One was in the Orpington coop in a bare nest box. The other three were in a tote half full of waste hay. They are on the small side as I expected but good shells and pretty light colors. I'm thrilled! The single egg in the dish is probably Orpington. The other 3 are likely Wyandotte. I’m waiting on my first eggs, my girls are about 10 weeks old. My question is this .. do I need to start adding calcium yet? Second, what is best to add to their diet for this?

I’ve been feeding all flock and putting out a dish of oyster shell. Mine also free range all day. I never noticed them eating thee oyster shell but so far, so good. The shells are firm and the eggs are pretty good shapes.

And it was incredibly exciting to find them!
