First Eggs! Four eggs!

I ordered a bag of the crushed oyster shells last night and will offer them. Can’t wait

I have been offering for quite awhile. I put them in a little dish, they walk all over the dish and spill them everywhere. But I guess they get them. I am not bounded by not wasting anything so I am very lucky.

I forgot to mention I also offer scrambled eggs, some cheese some fruits and veggies. Not huge amounts and I’m mostly offering the cheese and eggs to my little runt girl to make sure she’s getting enough food.

Egg number 5 on the floor of the coop. In the corner.

We ate the first four which were all fresh and good. Out of four eggs we got six yolks. They had a mild, buttery, yolky flavor.

Today’s egg is tiny also. So cute!

I read a funny story in one of chicken books. A gal gave her dad a dozen eggs from young pullets. He was perplexed as they were so tiny. The daughter told him not to worry, they will get bigger. So the dad told his wife not to touch the eggs for a few weeks - they would grow!

I’m waiting on my first eggs, my girls are about 10 weeks old. My question is this .. do I need to start adding calcium yet? Second, what is best to add to their diet for this?

they dont get layer feed til either the first egg or til they are 18 weeks
