First ever hatch... Can't wait.

I LOVE the brooder! I want one too! We aren't fancy here... I keep my babies inside my house in a tub with a heat lamp. That way I can harass them all day long without the "big girls" getting too jealous. :p
Ahah gd method i do the same :):) gonna try something more hi tec this year

Sure would be nice to have one of those brooders though! But I have to do small hatches so my hubby doesn't start doing math. Four here, six there, maybe fifteen more....

We have dogs so can't really keep them inside or I would be messing with them all day as well. I do however spend a lot of time with them out side. I have just taken these of our whole set up this morning while we were out doing morning feed.

The top and bottom one is of everything... The 6 week old chicks are in the brooder against the wall at the back and the ducks are in the smaller on close to the camera. Sat on the bench along the right hand wall sits the incubator, my eggs and then a small brooder which used to be a rabbit cage. I use this for day old to 2 weeks old then they go in a bigger brooder. Then all my equipment is stored underneath.

The middle photo is of course the 2 week old ducklings that I acquired this week. They were just having a bath this morning! :)

Is he swimming in the water bowl  looking forward to getting them :)

Tying to... Its not deep enough for them to swim in because I don't want them to get too cold. They get in then sit down in it at the moment. We dug them a pond yesterday outside so as soon as they are ready they will be splashing about! :D

I am also gonna build a pond, aha would u mind showing pics ahaha, did u use a fountain, and what system did use to drain the pond

I am out at the moment so can't get photos but we haven't used a fountain. Basically we went and got a plastic bath tub from a builders yard. Apparently used for mixing plaster dug the hole and filled with water. Where we live we have natural springs so a spring runs in and it can drain away.... I have also done t so if I need to I can run a hose pipe down the field to it.
