First Hatch 2010-Rocks, Amer's, etc. (FINISHED!)

Just candled all of mine (day 15) and (day 8)

Batch due to hatch next Monday is
3 Dels from L'il Bit and Pepper
2 Del crosses (with blue rocks I think)
12 BBS rocks (from the flock I raised from Halos eggs)

All these are going/growing strong! Only had 2 quitters back on Day 7...not too bad

Batch due the following Monday are
3 more L'il Bit/Pepper Dels (doing great)
8 Del crosses (BO and Blue/Black rocks) - all doing good
30 BBS rocks (only one appears to be infertile and might have 1 with a blood ring coming, not sure as egg is very porous and hard to see)

Cyn.....I'm trying to get a really nice splash roo. If you happen to get an "un-needed" Blue or Splash Roo from your hatch please let me know. BTW - did y'all get snow last night? 10 oclock news said Blue Ridge, Clayton and Cleveland all had a "dusting"

Hope everyone is well.

Scott, boy, you are up there with Cyn, Kathy and Germaine, just hatching away! ( I hesitate to call you a hatching queen

) Good luck with all of them- I will be anxious for pictures, especially the 'Lil Bit babies.
We got a bit a snow last night, too, but nothing stuck. Today is sunny but cold. The wind is nasty!

A splash roo sounds like a beautiful thing- I hope you get one, too!

Unemployed....projects around the house are done....gotta have SOMETHING to do!! Fortunately, almost all of these chicks have been spoken for. Friends from church, some local people starting to raise chickens, a friend needing a few extra, etc. So I will not have the task of raising them throw the balance of winter. I did however set 15 Light Brahma and 15 EEs yesterday (ooppps, don't tell the DW) that I will be using a few of

It was a good "test run" for my new Sportsman, PLUS I got to check the fertility of my BBS bunch. 12 of the first 14 I started were fertile, so I guess that's not too bad.

I do love my rock bunch and if Cyn hadn't coerced me into taking L'il Bit and Pepper....and thus my demise to Dellie World, I think Rocks might have been the only breed I had.

But, alas....I digress.....There must be a Dellies Anonymous help group somewhere!!

Step 1 - I admit I have a problem.....

Step 2 - admit you can do NOTHING ABOUT IT! So just laff and enjoy!!!

I am glad they are all spoken for - that keeps the feed costs down!

I am still stunned that she has fired up the bator again. hahahaha Cyn...have we not spoken about our DOWNSIZING our flocks?
