say, whaaaaat, Chipper?
LOL.
Well, for the first time ever, the P.O. scrambled some of my eggs. Yesterday, after putting water in with a straw, I had seen what looked like a tiny droplet, but thought I had slung some water when I pulled the straw out. When I got the four BR eggs, I did candle to check for cracks and there were none, though one aircell looked blown. Set all four of them. Today, three of the four BR eggs had little bumps all over them when I looked into the bator. Took them out and they were seeping. Three of the four have detached aircells.
So, the only hope for my shipped BRs is the one lone egg whose aircell seems intact. If they had not been seeping, I would have left them in there, though.
None of the Ameraucanas shipped with them were seeping and they seem okay. Will know more Friday when I candle. So, there is one BR egg of the four left and tomorrow is Day Five. I remember that when I'd ship my own Ameraucanas with Barred Rocks, the Ameraucanas were the best shippers of all and usually, those would hatch even when the BRs did not. Tough little bearded babies!
So, from 43 eggs, I'm down to 40. Naturally, the BRs and Blue Rocks were the ones I was most excited about, but I do love my Ameraucana ladies alot, so it's all good. Just go with the flow, right?
Here's one of the BR eggs with the little crystalline-like droplets all over it from seeping through the pores of the egg, just so you know what to look for in your own bator. It was not the packaging, just the handling that did this
