First Hatch 2010-Rocks, Amer's, etc. (FINISHED!)

Oh no ..... there will be NO power outages! That would result in you pulling your hair out for sure! What else could possibly wear you out! Good grief, enough is enough!

Thankfully though, the power was good throughout your hatch. Great batch of colored peeps you have there! I am partial to redheads myself!

You and Tom try to take it easy now, and get a little rest!

Congratulations on your great hatch, Cynthia. Those pictures are just adorable.Hope you and Tom are both feeling better soon and try to take it easy when you can.

Thanks for the well-wishes. We are both exhausted from gathering, cutting, splitting wood, filling waterers, etc, but we could be much worse. I'm not great, but that hot and sour soup sure makes me feel better--at least it clears my sinuses! The babies are adorable. And the little redhead should be fun to watch. Wonder what to expect with a BLRW x BBS Ameraucana? It has a single comb and I've gotten a genetic explantion of that already. But, the body types of the two breeds are so different! How about a BLR EE with beard, single comb and Ameraucana body type that lays green eggs? Oh, I hope it's a pullet! Don't mind roosters, but the last Cracker Jack surprise, though wonderful, had to go live with lockedhearts. Named him CJ and he's the coolest rooster! I just didn't have a place for a mixed breed rooster at the time.

Whew!!! That was exhausting (and exciting) to watch, and they aren't even mine!

I really hope you'll post some pics of that fiery little red head once she (the power of positive thinking!

) develops some feathers. I bet she's going to be drop dead gorgeous!!

Now just sit back with a nice hot cup of whatever you prefer and enjoy your fuzzy butts. And tell Tom not to over do it with the wood chopping! He needs to rest too!! Don't make me call out the flying monkeys!!!

Beautiful pictures

Thanks Cyn

last Candling of my 5 eggs will be tonight, Lockdown tomorrow and Hatch on Tuesday!
then we will probably think about doing a full bator of mutts.....before seperating the breeders to their new coop. It is almost finished! Hurray!

Those are some sweet babies. The colors are gorgeous! I have succumbed to the hatching fever... GOing to try putting a few of my hens eggs in the bator just to see if they are fertile yet. Our EE roo is only 5 months but Lt Fuzz is has been doing his "duty" very happily. He is the only roo with 12 hens in his little harem.
Sorry to hear your Tom took such a fall. I hope he is feeling better today. Sending out a little prayer for you both. You have been such a good source of information on BYC. I don't reply much to posts, I just like to read all of them and learn. If we don't say it oftern enough. Thank you, thank you, thank you for being there many a time for newbies and inbetweenies on here.

PS. how did you weather the storm? Keep that woodstove going and have a nice hot cup of tea!.

The storm has just started. Snow is falling and we're cozy warm in the house and the birds are cooped up with plenty of food and water. And the fuzzy butts will provide entertainment!
