Me, too, wicket! We just put in 10 Olive Eggers and 14 Welsummers at 6pm tonight, all of them shipped to us. Hope your hatch goes well! When are you setting your eggs and what are they?

SECOND ONE OUT!!!

So far we have a golden laced brahma and a buff brahma. Looks like a SFH may be next!!!! I also got the tiny broader ready. My built one 4x2 ft is not done yet. They should be ok for 1-2 weeks in this brooder I hope. I guess it depends how many out of the 22 hatch.I have the eco glow 50 covered with clear contact paper and then shelf liner to prevent slipping. Also have the chicken fountain bottle cap hooked up. So excited!!!!!

did you turn your shipped eggs at the start or wait 5 days then start to turn them,

I let them sit about 24 hours outside the incubator after I got them, then when I put them in the incubator I put on auto turner ON.

ariel, am so happy for you...finally..they do take their own time...I have a little giant incubator...not expensive..kept faithful temps/humidity all the way through...I wet/dry incubate.. (meaning do not add water after initial day 1)( this has worked for me in the past).all red plugs out..Day l - 99.5/38 -- 99.5 all the way to day 18 - day 18, took turner out, eggs in egg cartons, plugs IN. I never opened the bator day l-18...don't candle....they started hatching day 20 & 21 - have 13 chicks....all chicks are dry and in a box w/heat lamp...will leave bator connected until day 25...will let you know how it turns out....last 3 days temp 100/69 and 100/70 (ok because you want 60-75 last three days, so I am told) am delighted for I have 5 buff orpingtons and 8 blacks so far (astralorpe & barred rocks) It seems in the center row only 1 hatched and a small pip so far the side eggs hatched 12 out of 18...don't understand but am patient will wait to see what to-night and tomorrow bring.... can't wait to see how you all made out...I am sure an expensive bator will make all the difference but we do what we can do....pulling for you all...G

I pulled the first 4 chicks out a few hours ago and they took to the ecoglow 50 with no problem....just so darn cute I can't stand it!

Good luck to you all, this journey is wild! I have my second set of eggs unpacked and sitting out (all 28 eggs arrived today!)
