First hatch need help!

Is this little guy okay? He has something hanging out of his rear and his shell had lots of bloodvesles still in it, but he is moving and chirping around perfectly fine.

Cactus congrats on the little one hatching. How long did you stay up last night watching it? I know when I first hatched my ducks we had when the kids were small it seemed like I was up all night long just watching as you know it could be any time and I didn't want to miss it. Its so exciting to see.

Did your electric come back on right away? If its off for more then 2 to 3 hours with a wet chick the temp will drop fast. I would take the incubator with the chicks and eggs in it to friends or relatives home till your electric is back up and running. I hope all is well and more chicks hatch for you. Can't wait to see more pictures soon.

It was only out for ten minutes tops and they are all doing great. One chicks membrane had dried and she couldn't get through it so I had to assist him. Everyone is doing great!

I only got two hours of sleep before the first one came along, chirping as loud as they could! So I've been up since very early and I'm glad I did or I would have most likely lost the chick I had to help.
They did all the work and I just helped keep the membrane moist under a warm light while they hatched. The second they were free and stumbling on my hand they went quickly back in the incubator with its siblings.
Currently everyone is resting and a few more of the eggs have pipped!

I am glad everyone is doing so well so far. But make sure you get a nap in today at some point. Remember they don't need to eat for 2 to 3 days if they are in the incubator as they digested the yolk sac. So by Monday I would make sure you introduce them to food and water, if not before hand. Just dip their beaks into the water and then watch they swallow it. "they will lift their head up and tilt it back." Then do food the same way. Just don't dip them to far in as they have nostrils on their beak and you don't want to drawn them.

Thank you! I'll be sure to do just that. I had to separate one because he wasn't drying properly so the others were pecking him, they can still talk and see each other. I also now have three eggs starting to hatch!
