When Candling on Day 3 I didn't see distinct air Cells, so i was worried enough to wake at 5 AM to unplug the turner...which ran about 9 hours. I let them rest overnight, with only slight tipping every fw hours, Then this morning turned large end up, so air cells can develop in the lowered humidity a few more days, with only tilting instead of running the turner. Reassured from another post that since fresh, most may still be viable. I just hope the turner roll bars were not too rough on them day 1-3. I'm on my way now to remove the turner bars, so eggs are not too near the heat. Even with fan always on that seems like a risk. At the bottom of this Post is a Link to a summary on caring for Shipped eggs.
My Purebreed Breeder/shipper from cold country - in January -included instructions to rest them indoors 24 hrs, then keep eggs upright in the Incubator the first 3 days...undisturbed by turning.
That was all new to me, since most general information but i saw a loose air cell in one, so i kept searching for info. Instinct told me to unplug the turner within 8 hours, as it may be too much action since the air cells weren't visible yet. They rested still on their sides for a day, with only slight tilting, and i began a drawdown in humidity, as one of the Breeders of a critically endangered breed recommends lower humidity til hatch. I will try to learn if other breeds also need lower temps or humidity to set up an alternate hatcher by day 17. I'll post my process and results on this thread. Cheers!
In case someone else with Shipped eggs
needs help to think thru their care,
here is an informal summary I found: https://www.facebook.com/notes/alab...ssfully-hatch-shipped-eggs/133243453534988/vv
