First incubation of duck eggs

One out... seven to go. I have no nails left, and I'm pulling out my hair. I'm like the SNL character played by Kristen Wiig who LOVES SURPRISES... I'm beside myself. Ha!
Don't forget to get up and move around and eat.

but with ordering ducklings you would not have the joy of watching your own hatch.. :) I hatch chickens and am addicted.. lol.

I agree.

5 have hatched. The first one is flailing around like there is rubber in her neck, how do I help her? And after I move them to their brooder, when do I have to worry about splay legs?all of them came out with it.

What are you using on the floor of your brooder. Make sure it isn’t slick. As For the one it takes some time before they get over hatching hopefully that’s all it is.

I’m using old soft towels. Is that too slick? I have about a hundred of them and I can wash the bedding twice a day. I figured it would be more sanitary. I used wood shavings for my chickens, and it was messy. And I understand that my little duck nuggets are even messier.
