First Incubation

Those grayish spots...

Oh I would guess those are from the increase in humidity. :hu

Sometimes we see a larger (size of a dime maybe) dark spot, and it’s usually an indication that the chick tried to pip and broke the membrane, but not the shell, and a little moisture got between the membranes. Happens more often with ducks. I think yours is just a slightly porous shell. Doesn’t look like a problem to me.

Thank you, I noticed them shortly after I brought the humidity up(I left it down because my air cells were too small) so that would make sense.

I think I've got one with an internal pip, but I could be wrong. If so, hopefully I'll see an external pip tomorrow. It's a little odd because it's one of my younger eggs(just hit day 21 today) so I'm hoping the older ones are still okay. I figure I'll leave them(older eggs) until Friday and then candle again because they'll be on day 25 at that point.

Iz you crazy!! 25 days?!! If they don't hatch by tomorrow then they are probably no good anymore.

So... I went in and candled today... When I found an internal pip from day 23 I may have gotten a little excited... and impatiently I also candled day 22. So of 11 I have 3 internal pips!
EDIT: 5/11 have internal pips, and one is dead... so I guess 5/10.

Got home a little while ago to go check on them. We have 2 hatched and 2 that are working pretty hard right now. I was so surprised to see that they had hatched.
