First quilt block swap 2016

This is our little doggie, Willow. These pics are a couple years old. Her coloring has changed a bit. She is more silver than in these pics. She is almost 4 1/2 yo. I know her ears look big. Everyone comments on them. They only look bigger because I let her fur grow long on them. If I let the groomer shave them, she looks like she has bat ears!!

wow the last pic is spectacular you should have it painted or put on a pillow or something.

Coldupnorth, what was the order of your nine patch? I'm going to make my nephew a quilt and I really think he would love this pattern. He likes the color purple, so may doing purple, black, and beige. Not sure of the other 2 colors yet, but if you can share your pattern with me, I would greatly appreciate it. I really love it!!
I used the beige on beige as the middle square, the aqua was the four corners and the black was the 4 middle edges. I used 6" squares to start with, since they were the easiest for to cut. The last block measured 16 1/2" before they were sewn together. I had made a smaller version with 4" 1/2" blocks, but my daughters voted for the larger block. I really like how the colors came together - very dynamic. My nephew and his new wife seemed to like it (the picture of it, anyway).

Purple, black and beige would be a great color combination!

Thank you katsdar~I was working in the flower bed and looked up and there she was, looking at me through the fence! Of course I had no camera out with me, so had to run in and get the camera. She was still there and I had her look at me through the fence and snapped 2-3 pics of her! I love this one of her.

Thank you coldupnorth! I kinda thought that was the layout. So this quilt is made of 6" squares? I think the purple, black and beige would look good also. Still thinking on it.

here is another to me a better pic,

ot get the right size I do have to do a scant 1/4 inch

We are all very quiet we must be busy sewing
Hmmm I am busy sewing and cooking. DH just went for a week long business trip but I still have all the kids here so I am far from lonely or bored. Your block looks great and will go well with mine. What colors are most people using? By the way my blocks went in the mail last Saturday.

My blocks are going to be in 3 different backgrounds. One is a burnt orange, the other is an orange print and the 3rd is a blue print. I'm in the process of cutting. I just dislike this part most of all!! I want to be very precise, but they never quite come out the way I want. Oh well! It is what it is!

Thanks I a sure I just cut straight so trying to match would have driven me crazier,, I am going to do some in a couple of other browns and I do have an orange/brown fabric I'm going to use too, and I'm going to cut the squares a little bigger, I don't like doing a scant 1/4 I don't seem to get a good straight stitch line.
