Will you be making a how you raised ducks page like you made this one? As I've mentioned, I'm still considering them, and love watching how they grow. Or will you just share here with us?
That's an interesting thought Peep. I hadn't considered a new thread about ducks. Do you think I should? It would be fun! Being new to it I would have the newbie viewpoint totally! That is kinda fun for people considering becoming newbies themselves.
And of course, I wouldn't want to offend Ralphie's sensibilities on MY thread.

I think I'll start a new thread because it wouldn't make sense to do it here, really. This is a Cornish X thread. Yep, it's a deal Peep. I'll do it! My ducklings come Nov 9th, so it will start then! Yay!
I'm also curious about you water source. I understood that ducks need a pond or pool to do well. That's what has dissuaded me thus far from getting any.
So, let me do the blah, blah first.
My research shows that the breed I am getting, a Khaki Campbell hybrid, doesn't need a pond or pool and most of the egg laying varieties don't. Of course, adequate water for dunking their heads into to completely clean their nose and eyes is important. Supposedly a bucket or container with several inches of water will suffice.
Okay.....yeah....NO. You all know me here. I may raise chickens, and soon to be ducks, commercially, but I refuse to do it in a way that I feel is not right for the bird. So yes, we will have a proper water source. Ducks are waterfowl for Pete's sake! They are most happy when swimming around. Watch the million youtube vids on happy swimming ducks! I understand that everyone has to do what they have to do based on space and such, but I can't have 75 ducks without a swimming source. Happy ducks most likely lay lots of eggs, right? Hubby is thinking on it but hasn't quite finalized his plan. Believe me, dear friends, you will be the first to see his vision when it is being worked on! I will show it here and the new thread I will create about raising ducks.
I'm getting excited!
