Yes we can't either. 2018 should be a very eventful year for us. What started as 20ish chickens from meyer should be 100 ish birds from show breeds and our own hatching and breeding. I have a line up on some gorgeous show blue Americana eggs as soon as his girls start laying again.
So 2018 projects are to breed show birds from our silkies,Fbcm and now Americana. Then we will have mixed breeding for OE and all shades of green and and blue eggs. Lots of pens and coops to build. Lots of hatching to come.

ahem,... just as a word of wisdom, when talking/typing to Ameraucana breeders dont spell it wrong. they will take offense and not think that you are serious

there is no I in Ameraucana

but i cant wait to see all the babies!!


ETA : most places (ie hatcheries) that spell it wrong do it on purpose- because they are EEs and not true ameraucanas

Ok the days are ticking away and eggs will go in lock down tonight. I wish it look better but some eggs, mainly FBCM are down to just 3 good looking eggs and it looks like 10 good looking welsummer eggs.
Anyways here is the 24 eggs at 17 days.......................................................

So it looks like 13 will make it to lock down tonight. Praying for 3 fbcm pullets.

Day 21 started @Noon today. 1 Marans and 4 welsummer have piped so far. Hoping for all 3 Marans to hatched pulleys and a good 6 welsummer pulleys.

I think only cuckoo Marans are, depending on how they are bred. Not black coppers.
