First time and the suspense is killing me!!

PLEASE HELP!!! My other 3 duck eggs are hatching and 2 are making steady progress, but 1 has his beak sticking out since sometime last night! We woke up to that but there has been no movement, no nothing. I'm worried he has died. What should I do at this point?

I think I'd be tempted to chip a little bit of shell around his beak (very carefully) to make sure he's breathing. You should be able to tell if he's alive then. If he is, put him back in and wait some more. There are lots of threads on here about assisted hatches if need be. It's always so scary to see them kind of stuck like that.

I believe it is dead. I took out out and messed with it some, and it was dry and very still. I'm going to leave him in there until the others hatch and then toss him... :(

the dry chick got "shrink wrapped" from lack of humidity, it sounds like. Sorry
