@DobieLover made a true statement. Hope you enjoy it here as much as we all do!
I wouldn't let her set on golf balls only because she will remain broody for a longer period because she is expecting chicks to hatch.Thank you! One last question before I move on the chicken crazy town...if I let her do her thing maybe on some golf balls will she snap out of it? Or does only a hatch break this?
Broody cage set up this morning and she is totally devastated and my daughter thinks I’m evil lol...I’ll let you know how it goes!I just joined also.....mostly because of my broody Buff Orp. We are going on week 3 and no signs of coming out of this. I carry her off the nest and put her out to free range with the rest and she mostly gets distracted and goes about her day, but she is obnoxious and attacks everyone, including the dog. Next time I think I will try the cage method. Curious to see the responses you get, mrspeete
Mine is still being pretty sweet other than screeching she lets you pet and hold her. This whole this in weird though. I didn’t think they were supposed to lay while brooding but I locked her out of the coop this afternoon and she pooped her egg on the lawn. I don’t know what to think anymore.Oh no! I'm so sorry! I was about to give it a try after today's escapade......she came at my legs, pecking at me and eventually flew up at my face screeching like she was going to claw my eyes out. I had to cover myself with my jacket! It was like a Hitchcock movie.
She was the sweetest of all my hens......it's so sad that they have to go through this.
