I am new to backyard chicken keeping and this fantastic site. Thank you for the warm welcome! My partner and I are in Lexington, KY, and we currently have two adult hens (one black sexlink - Penny - and one buff orpington - Josephine). We are also raising four young pullets (we hope) to add to our flock soon, including two cinnamon queens, one ameracauna (Cluck Norris) and one black asia.
We love all of their personalities and hope they will integrate well with the older birds. Any good advice for a smooth transition? The young birds are about 8 weeks old and have their feathers.

First of all, :welcome
This is a great community, so come to us with any questions and we'll try to help.
When integrating new chickens to a flock, first keep them separated but so that they can all see each other. Maybe put a cage in the run of the older chickens and put the new chickens inside so they can see each other and get used to one another's presence.

Good luck :)!
