First time chicken raiser!

Hi and welcome to BYC!
Spend time with them as mentioned above, and offer them plenty of treats. If you get at least one of them to trust you enough to eat from your hand, there's a good chance that the others won't want to miss out.
ditto and def check out the polish thread weimermamma posted! Welcome TOO!!!

Thanks for the welcome you guys!

I will definitely check out that thread and will be spending lots more time with Peep. He has calmed down considerably since I got him, so I hope he continues to improve!

Here are the babies :) Maybe y'all can tell what gender they are?

Welcome to BYC. I'm new here also. I don't know much about the breeds, but I do have a pullet and roo of one breed that are also spastic compared to the rest of the chickens that I have. They tend to just run around and act totally spastic. I have been working with them everyday and although still spastic they are alot better with being handled and starting to take food f:Drom my hands. Just work with them and they should come around even though spastic just might be their personality. As someone said earlier post pics and someone can help you to determine their sex. Good luck, and enjoy. :D

Sorry I didn't see the pics. Not really sure, but if I were to guess I would think the first a roo, the second i'm not really sure, and the third again my guess is also a roo. Please let me know if i'm even close. Lol

I believe the Polish is a hen. Still not sure though! haha. I gave her to a friend who had more time to calm her down and she is thriving now! The silkie is a female as well, I think. I figure I'll find out eventually. The last one is definitely a roo! He is my favorite. He just loves to sit with me and he will follow me around. Also, welcome to the BYC community as well

Sorry that I didn't guess right, and thanks for the update. lol. The two that I have that were spastic, well the roo pasted away, but the hen now will stand right at my feet and wait for me to give her some corn. She also flies up to perch wherever I am and then comes down on my shoulder. She is my favorite, but I miss my little roo! :'-( I hope that you have many years of enjoyment with them. Hey when you know what they are for sure update again please. Good luck and take care.
