Personally I would leave them if you were concerned. 24 hours won't hurt them. As a matter of fact, I never remove them at less than 24 hours. I had my first of 26 hatch last night, I have 10 now, and still haven't taken them out. It wouldn't hurt them if you did take them out, but I would leave them in there to cheer on the last oneI'm kinda worried about putting the new chicks in the brooder tonight and then going to bed. This is my first time and I'd kinda like to monitor them to make sure they are okay (temps/food/water dish w/marbles). But then I'm kinda worried that the last egg will pip and then I'll lose my window of oppertunity to take them out and they'll be stuck in the incubator over 24 hours. What would you guys do?
Thank you! I will leave them in overnight. Besides they should be wiped out from their day. I can't believe how active and playful they are from the second they hatch! Thanks for all of the advice, it's greatly appreciated!Personally I would leave them if you were concerned. 24 hours won't hurt them. As a matter of fact, I never remove them at less than 24 hours. If humidity is running lower can I plug the ventilation hole, or does that need to be open for oxygen?2 questions
1) It is the early morning of day 20, is I set eggs around noon when should I see pips? I dont see any
2) The humidity is at 60ish, is this ok? I was at 70

Also the eggs are not wiggling or moving around at all, is this normal? Sorry to keep bothering, I am just scared
I added water through the ventialtion hole in a staw to my paper towels. now is around 651 - There's no telling when it will happen. Best guess is from now to sometime within the next 3 days.... sorry, 21 days is the guideline, but it can run a couple days before to a couple days after and still be perfectly normal. Too many conditions come into play to be able to pinpoint.
2 - 60 is ok, but I prefer mine a little higher - 65-70. How difficult is it for you to adjust? I mean, if its easy to add a squirt of water and it doesn't skyrocket, then you could do it, but if its a huge problem, you are probably safe at 60. You don't want it to drop much below that though.
They need the vent holes open for oxygen, so leave those open.
Yep, that's normal. My guess about wiggling is what kind of surface your egg is laying on. I lay mine on a rubber shelf liner and the bottom of the bator has grids, so I think both those things keep the egg more stable and still. I do see wiggling when they really get at it, but the majority of the time they appear really still.
Questions are fine, and don't be scared. You can do this!
