You're going to need some warm water and either cotton balls or q-tips. (I use q-tips myself). So grab those.

Thank amy, i did the shell and a little of the membrane and put some water on it. Put him back in there, will see what happensYou are going to take the egg right out. If you have tweezers, use them to chip away the egg shell and make the pip hole a little bigger. Using your q-tip (or cotton ball) apply the water to the membrane around the chick by dabbing it in water and rubbing the membrane around the beak. Be careful not to get any water in his nose. Once you get the membrane nice and moist proceed to pull the membrane away in any area where it is stuck against it. Once you have any "glued" areas stuck and the membranes moistened, then you start your zip line around the egg away from the pip by chipping away at the shell first. IF and only IF there are no prominent veins in the membrane you can also sepertate the membrane around the zip. If there is still prominent veining, only do the shell. I would do only about a quarter of the zip, moisten membranes once more and replace the chick. I'd then play the chicks chirping video periodicall and give him an hour or so to see if he tries to make progress by himelf. If not than I would repeat this process again, replacing him to give him a chance to finish himself.
Now if you see unabsorbed yolk or have any bleeding. Stop (in the case of bleeding use the q-tip to rinse spot with water) and replace the chick and egg to the bator and wait. If after you've zip 3/4 of the shell and he still doesn't finish himself, you might as well finish the zip and replace him, (still in egg) to the bator and let him kick out when ready.
