Perfectly healthy and happy!
Mic
Happy and healthy! But what can I do about the fur on back and head that hasnt fluffed?
Ted
PICTURE UNAVAILABLE
Ted is alive and doing ok...He still cant really walk, has a boot on, but seems to be drinking. Has fluffed and is very cute.
Can you guys help me with any information on how to help ted and mic?
I would. IF you do eggtopsies go in through the air cell first. I highly doubt anything is viable, but you never know.It is day 25 should I stop incubation tonight? Candled yesterday and saw full grown chicks but no internal or external pip
All you do for the float test is take a bowl of warm (100F) water and set your egg in it. If it floats AND wiggles independently, then there is a chick moveing in the egg. That is the only fairly certain reading you can get from that test though. Almost always a sinker denotes dead. A floater w/o movement is usually non viable as well but not as certain.Anyone got the link to the float test?
This is just me, but day 25=trashFloat test= all floaters not wiggles. What do you think?
I think they are non viable. I'll either eggtopsy or toss.Float test= all floaters not wiggles. What do you think?
25 days is risky. I know firsthand and mine was 24 day hatcher. This is just me, but day 25=trash
Actually For me day 24= trash, but I was trying to be niceI think they are non viable. I'll either eggtopsy or toss. :/

Boot fell off of ted, saw he toes were kind of straight but all clumped together. Put new boot on. I want to trash eggs but others in the house say just 1 more day so 1 more day it is. Ted is so upsetting to wathcActually For me day 24= trash, but I was trying to be nice
I'm going to say something I generally wouldn't because I am the hopeful where saving animals are concerned. At day 26 the chance of hatching out a healthy viable chick is pretty slim. If you have a problem watching Ted in his little boot, how would you feel if you had a hatcher that was really messed up from a delayed hatch, a chick that there wasn't much you could do for it other than to cull it yourself? Not saying you should or shouldn't, just wanted to give you something to think about.Boot fell off of ted, saw he toes were kind of straight but all clumped together. Put new boot on. I understand, and I want to throw the eggs out but truthfully(You may have heard me say this before) I am only 13, and my mom doesn't understand, and she thinks it would be horrible to throw out an egg that could hatch. Also if you read my thread that said my kids where slamming doors that was my brother mad at meI'm going to say something I generally wouldn't because I am the hopeful where saving animals are concerned.
