First time getting chicks!!! Please help!!!

We are getting 8 chicks 2 weeks from now, and i have some questions.

how can I tell if my chick is sick?
when can I tell if my chick is a rooster?
what do I do with the rooster if I get one?
does anyone give a special formula to the chicks for them to drink?
when can they go outside?
should they sleep on a roost at night when they are in their brooder?

hmm -- mine were hatched on or about March 1 -- and already they are climbing on the wide tree branches that I put in the brooder -- sometimes sleeping on them --- my last batch spent almost all day on their roost, starting at about 2 weeks
