This is my first time try to hatch chicken eggs. First thing ,, my eggs are brown. I started on 1st of april at 00:00 AM. My home made incubator is working 95% fine. My temp vary from 98-102 according to the thermostate setting. Humidity vary from 60 to 65%. I have only 4 no's of eggs. On day 15 when i candled all of the, i was able to see red veins and moving inside. Air bubble is also seems fine. BUT when i candled it again on day 17 only 2 of them is still have movements but in another 2 i can't see any movement. I am afraid ARE THEY DIE.? I can see air sac and red veins still in them. I will try to candled them again tonight. Please suggest

I wouldn't worry. If you still see veins they are probably fine. At this point, they are taking up so much room inside the egg, you may not see much movement, or they may be asleep or resting, getting ready for hatch day

Mine are on day 20. I didn't see any movement in most when I candled on day 18, but now they're rocking in the bator. Good luck on your hatch!

I moved 30 Light Sussex eggs into my hatcher today. It's Day 17 for me too, but I had to do it today because of an appointment tomorrow. So, I'm with you, Rahul. Sounds like everything is going according to plan for you. Good luck, and fingers crossed that we get some rocking tomorrow!

Thanks a lot for your suggestions. Its day 18 now. What will be my temp and humidity for next three days???? I has been maintaining 55-65% humidity from last 18 days. Can i close my computer fan running inside my incubator for increasing humidity?

I run mine with really low humidity for the first 18 days, and then raise it for the last 3. I aim for 70%, but I've heard of people hatching with more or less. My temps tend to fluctuate a little during lockdown as the humidity changes, but I try not to mess with the thermostat. As for your fan, I leave mine running. If you want to increase humidity, maybe add a wet sponge?

I woke up to 2 pips this morning!

Its day 19 started and I have added wet sponge to increase humidity between 70-80% now. I still have not seen any rocking of egg till now..

Day 20th started. Lockdown is before 24 hours ago... Whats wrong nothing movement rocking or chirping ???? I am worried .. IS MY CHICKS STILL ALIVE???
