First Time Hatching Anyone With Me??

I have a chick that pipped very early this morning and made absolutely no progress until just 30 minutes ago. Sometimes it takes HOURS! Hang in there and resist the urge to open the bator! Good luck!

I really didn't want to wait until May for her to hatch some eggs for me.

Sometimes you just have to try. I helped one of mine and she is doing great. Each time I look at her I am glad I decided to just go for it.

I helped one of mine (took whole LG in steamy bathroom)... and she is doing better than some of the ones that hatched (and died in the 1st 24 hrs)...

I have big LED maglight (looks like what the police have) I guess I will try using that when its time.

I dont think I could resist opening up the 'bad' eggs, I have problems controlling my curiosity

Actually opening unhatched eggs is a very good idea. Seeing what the embyro's condition lets you see what may have caused to not have hatched. A friend and I call it "eggtopsy". You can see if they did not develop properly, if they drowned, if they shrink wrapped...etc. So...it helps you learn a great deal about hatching and how to avoid some problem that may have happened.

Well....."Speedy" has hatched! Less than 6 hours from pip to hatch!!! All other eggs have pipped except for the EE's. It's gonna be a long night..........

I ended up eggtopsying the unhatched eggs, they were dried out. Turns out my thermometer was off, temp was 102 the whole time
