First Time Hatching Anyone With Me??

I am very jealous of your Genesis! I really wanted one, but no one sells them around here. I love barred rocks! I think on the next batch of chicks I am going to hatch some of those from the neighbors flock.

Have you had buff orpingtons before? I LOVE mine, so friendly. Great layers to!

I ordered it off ebay and I have been waiting and researching this for about a month. This is my first time raising chickens and I am excited/a mess lol

Is that THE best incubator to have? Im borrowing one now, and its working great, but I will need to get my own, now that I have the disease....

I have no idea if its the best, but I have friends that have them and they LOVE them. Great hatch rates I hear. Yes I believe that I have caught the disease...... I am already planning which eggs to get next

I am officially on day 2...... only 19 more to go. I don't think that I am going to have any nails left by the time hatching rolls around, its defiantly a nail biting experience.

I currently have 4 thermometers in the bater

The best part is they all have different temps...... (insert psychotic laughing) I am not sure which one to believe. Two of them are digital and the other two are the regular kind that came with the incubator and turner.

How is everyone else doing this morning? Anyone going to candle today.... if you do you should take pictures to share

Depends on what kind of camera you have. Do you have manual settings? If you have a pop up style flash just leave it down, if not there will be a setting to turn it off. You wont be able to use the 'Auto' setting. Sorry I got so excited about camera settings....its just that there was a question that I can finally answer (or attempt to)

I'm on day 3 of my first egg setting experience. Using a LG 10200 with fan. 10 Olive Eggers and 20 FBCM eggs. Whats the difference between settings for Still air and fan use? Hoping to be pipping on March 8th!! I know there is a candling pictures thread on here but cant seem to find it. Can anyone lead the way? Thanks

Hi peeps- I just set my first eggs on the 18th. Olives and Marans, using a little giant with a fan.
**** FIRST Question --If there are a few little clear yellow drops on top of one of the eggs, does this mean the membrane broke, will this may EXPLODE (the worst of all fates) if left too long?

I set 6 more eggs in the Mini Advance I got Thursday. Brinsea accidently sent the small 12 slot disk, so I could only fit the 6 eggs. I've called them and asked them to please send me the 7 egg standard disk that was suppose to come with it.

I ran out of space on the kitchen counter, so these eggs are in the guest bathroom. And I have a bonus incubator! Last night when I went out to put the flock to bed, one of my Mottled Java hens is stilling on a nest. She was still there this morning so I think I'll give her some eggs tonight to see how she does.
