I had 7 shipped and didn’t bother candling them; 6 hatched in the end. Unless you have a really powerful light, they’re hard to see into. They cool down fast as well, being so tiny. Good luck to your little malteasers!

Where in Dublin can i buy a small bag of quail chick crumb please , I dont want to buy a huge bag incase none hatch ,
can i buy normal chick crumb and crush some , ? please 🐣

You'll need something like unmedicated gamebird starter that's a much higher percentage than normal chick crumb, about 26–30%.

I don't know about Dublin, but I had a really hard time finding something suitable in London. I ended up having to get a huge bag of Allen & Page 22% Turkey starter (which I think is seasonal anyway) and supplementing with boiled egg. Maybe you can find something in a smaller bag on ebay?

And yeah, whatever you get, you'll need to crush it for buttons.
