Day 25! Set them up for lockdown. I actually noticed one might have already internally pipped??? Is this even possible? I could clearly see his beak in the air cell

Possible if your temp is higher in that spot.

I thought of that, but it's unlikely, the bator I use is very small and all the eggs are very close together, no other egg had an internal pip, so maybe he's just a curious baby who wanted to get out early lol

Welp, day 26: 2 external pips, one is on the wrong side of the egg I don't see any blood though so hopefully he'll make it out fine. I'll wait till unzip and see if the small end is big enough for him to get out.

I haven’t had it happen but have read about babies that can unzip from the small end. But others have actual experience with it.

Most times they can still hatch fine from the wrong end. But if they are too close to the tip and/or if the air cell is unusually large, they could have trouble turning.

Just keep an eye out for the membrane to start drying out. You don't want that to happen.

Another thing to keep in mind about wrong-enders is that they didn't use the air cell air, so they can take longer. They skip the internal pip stage (up to 24 hours-ish) so don't be surprised if its over 48 hours before it tries to zip.
