Hello!
I’m working on my first hatching project with Appleyard/Welsh Harlequin cross. Today is day 25 and we were preparing to put our eggs in lockdown and came across this weird bruising on one of the eggs. It wasn’t there last night when we turned them before bed. When I put my ear to the egg I hear pecking and it’s wobbling ever so slightly. I candled it to see it’s position at the air sack and it appears that there is no air sack, almost as if it pushed itself into the air sack?
We reviewed various resources about possibly putting a little hole at the bruise but stopped and wanted to discuss it here before going any further.
I attached a photo of the egg to this post. If I can provide any further photos please let me know!
Thanks so much!
