First time hatching.

It has been a day and a half since they have pipped and 2 are out and fluffy, while one is still in the shell, but it has made a lot of progress, I'm sure it will be out soon. I can see it breathing and it is chirping, so I'm just being patient
Congratulations on the successful hatch! I hope you post photos soon!

They are all out now! I'm so excited, the last one just hatched and is resting. I will be sure to post pictures tomorrow, going to wait until they are all up and walking around

Isn't that fun when the numbers go up? How many hens do you have? With the lower temps, less light and the fact I"m building a new coop RIGHT next to their current coop has distracted and slowed down my girls. Also 2 are molting. So, with 14 laying hens, I went from 12 to 13 per day, to 5 or 6 per day. I'm looking forward to things getting back to normal.

Okay, so one of my babies has a broken leg and I have no idea what to do now. As of now, I have it out of the pen and in my lap. I read that you're supposed to touch them or they won't survive if you separate them from the others. However, I don't know what to do from here. Any suggestions?

I was at a feed store once, and 2 chicks had their legs stuck at the back of the cage, and there was not water for the chicks. One chick was dead the other was just stuck. I chewed out the feed store and made them give me the baby with the messed up leg. I gave him egg yoke when I got home, and he still went in with the other chicks I had eventually his leg did get better on it's own.
