First time hatching

Planning on candling my eggs tonight. Im on day 10. Im excited to see something tonight. Ive been very good about leaving the incubator alone. It has not been easy, lol

While I agree that messing with them too much can be detrimental, keep in mind that a broody hen moves eggs around, gets off the nest daily, etc etc. I candle quickly in the cradle, without moving the eggs, almost daily. Full candling on days 7/14/18. Did so with my last hatch, and 11 of 13 of the eggs from my flock hatched. (2 were very early pullet eggs). Jest sayin.... lol

So results. Out of 19 i have 4 infertile eggs and one blood ring. The other 14 look good. Even saw a couple move. That was the coolest. My air pockets are consistent. So hopefully in 11 days ill have some babies. I will have another look in a few days to see how they are coming.

So i candled again tonight. One had a black spot in it and looked funny last candling. Looks like an infertile egg now, buy 13 looking good. 7ish days to go. Got stuff to get my brooder set up this weekend.

Black spot? Did it move? Usually the black spot is an eye!
