first time incubating, first set of eggs went in about an hour ago

i candled the eggs and they are looking good so far, but you know the old sayin "don't count your bitties before they hatch"

i am at day 11 i think, everything seems to be okay

Melissaa, I'm glad things are looking good. Rough week HUH? Maybe all will turn out okay. On my end of this , I candled last night 7 of my 8 are still kickin'. 1 had a blood ring in it,and didn't make it. I also set 18 more eggs in bator #2. I'll cry if none of these things hatch!!!!!!

I candled today too! Good news is at least one is alive and kicking, which is good with all the issues I've had. Bad news is, I dropped a good one!

I've put some wax on it, but I don't hold much hope.

The others habe some worriesome spot (see my other thread).

This is much harder than I thought! But v. fun too!!! I'm hoping for at least one live chick.

GOOD NEWS!!! i have candled the eggs again and I SEE MOVEMENT!

YAY!!! i never seen nothing like that before! i called my huspand in there screamin come here come here! he came in and i showed him the chick moving in there, and he said " you scared the crap out of me for this" lol i was excited, hes not too happy because he has to build another pen...

im not counting my bitties til they hatch though!

i hope all of them hatch. i had to throw 2 away because nothing was developing.

somewhere around sunday or monday. i still cant get over being able to see them moving in the egg

Yes I know what you mean, I had one where you could actually see its beak moving, several others look like they were trying to kick their way out! Its so cool!

okay so question today is day 18 and im taking the turner out, will i have to turn the eggs or do i leave them alone? i just want to make sure im doing this right.. im a lil nervous seeing this is my first time incubating eggs. i think i am going to be sooo addicted to hatching eggs. ill probably turn into a hatchalholic lol

Leave them alone, no more anything except keeping the humidity up and sitting on your hands, ! I'm right here with you lady, same day, same boat.

Tomorrow is day 18 for me! I'm coming back up here to work, and taking the eggs out of the turner!

I was worried they might be dead with all the probs, so I candled to today and saw at least two big chicks in the eggs!!! YYYEEAAA!

I was about to loose all hope!

So tomorrow, they go out of the tuner. They might be late hatching, I've had some big temp issues, so we'll see. Of course, thre's still a good chance they wont hatch at all, but hey, not dead yet!
