I have made my own incubator but cannot get the temp correct I have placed eggs in their just for the trial run while I set up the temp and humidity but no success. I have a 40w bulb. Pc fan. Water thermostat ranging 90f to 150f. Home made egg turner. Thermometer/hydrometer. I cannot set the temp correctly been trying for 2 days. Help, please.

The temp will increase to 108f before switching off and 94f before switching on.

We had that same problem and my hubby tried and tried to fix it. It would shut off at 102 but not come back on until 95 which isn't too bad but it wasn't consistent enough for me,so we just bought 2 incubators from our feed store bought 2 because they were marked down to 20 a piece and so far both have given me decent hatch rates. We still have the homemade bator but that is where the chicks go to dry before they are put in the broody box. I am sorry I couldn't offer any real advice but I do understand what you are going through we just couldn't get the thermostat hammered out to where we wanted.

You neef yo have the thermostat turned around backwards where the back is facing the light. I use a 60w bulb. My thermostat is approximatley 3 inches from the light. To regulate it, turn it down to the lowest serting, and move the thermostat closet to th e light if temps are to high and farther if to low. Move about a half inchat a time. Mine ranges from 99-100.
