first time incubating

I investigated further and what I saw was actually white bird poop? With a clearer yellowish liquid over it. I think he's OK. I see blood vessels when I peel the membrane but they're not bleeding

He has to be exhausted by now. See if you can stimulate him by whistling, chirping, or playing a video. If he wiggles and pushes he should be able to free himself.

He's really kicking and wiggling but looks like the membrane is stuck in some places cause he can't get out even with it being that open. I'm just giving him a break to warm up and then I'll have to start moistening again.

I can't tell where his other leg is but it seems like his butt would be where the gooey stuff is.I dont think he's in the same position as that picture. Looks like he's folded in half with a leg on each side of his head because I don't see the other leg anywhere.

He should be folded like you say. Maybe that wasn't the best pic to illustrate that... sorry.

I agree

Sounds good. He probably can use a little rest. Just don't let him give up. I know its a fine line there, so you have to judge that for yourself. Did you get the membrane off his head? I think that would really allow him to kick and stretch out and open up his body. Then you would be able to work on the stuck areas.

I'm very proud of you, by the way!

I'm heading out soon. Will check in as soon as I can. Hopefully he will be out and I'll see a cute little ducky pic!

Thanks so much for helping me through this. He's got himself in a different position now with his foot under his chin. Slowly inching his head out further. I think he might be able to get out soon, just a bit sticking on the back of his neck now that I keep moistening. I'll have cute ducky pics soon I hope!!

He's out!! But there's a bulgy tube thing sticking out of his navel that's still attached to the egg. He's was kicking like crazy trying to get it off then just curled up in a ball and breathing. I'm worried cause I don't know if I need to do anything else or just leave him
