yea me to my mom works in a feed store and was talking aobut selling all the bators i was haveing great luck with a new sportsman and very one wanted to add there eggs So there replacment order came in and i got one came home opend the box and was shocked but they work.

My chicken eggs should be due to hatch the 19th also- I put them in at 8 am Thu morning. My duck eggs I figure about Mar 26, and the goose eggs around Mar 28 (both also started the same day & time/ diff incubator).

My chicken eggs are mixes, so not sure what I will end up with (if anything- its my first try incubating). I only have buff and white silkies, wcb polish, and w sultans, so its hard to say what I'll get. They (I guess) will be poofy bantam mutts- or not (mutts that is).

I wonder if I will be spending the entire 3 wks (4 for the others) staring at the thermometers instead of doing housework or anything productive. Seems like that is how it has been since Thu so far. Oh, and I hum the final jeopardy tune (maybe that will hurry them up???).

Keep us posted on how you make out.

I'll be setting on Tuesday the 3rd - so, we'll be due around the 24th.

I'm using an LG still air with an egg turner. Setting about 20 eggs.

We just just got our LG this week, with the fan model. Going to try it this coming weekend. Our other incubator is a cabnet type and works great but is a bit of an over kill for a small hatches.

I am glad to hear that so many others will be hatching around the same time!and with the same incubator too! I had tried saving up money for the Hovabator Genisis but something would come up every time. So when my mother in law gave me a check for christmas I just went out and bought the Little giant and turner that had been at Thiesens for ever!
I hope it works, I don't even need these chicks and will probably sell most of them but I still want them all to hatch! I can't wait to see what I get. Sometimes mixes are more exciting then purebreeds, because you can get so many colors!

Last week a friend gave me her old incubator so now i have two. Hers is a Hovabator but its an older model it does have a fan and it has quail egg racks and some it says are universal for chickens, ducks and geese! Makes me want to try to hatch out quail and such!
Anyway I decided to stick with my new one because she said she never had good luck with hers but I will be trying it out later this summer when I have my birds seperated by breed.

Lets Keep chatting! We have to do something to keep occupied and I really don't want to clean my house!

I am trying so hard to wait till Friday to candle the eggs. I really hope some of them are growing at least. Anyone else candling this weekend??
My temps have been varying alot from 101.7 when I get home at 6pm down to 98.5 at 6am in the morning. I hope this doesn't effect it to much!

I have eggs to on the 20th or 21st. BLRW, Speckled Sussex and some barnyard mixes. I have candled this week already and seen some veining but am having a really hard time figuring out what I am looking at. This is my first time candling.

I am using a homemade cabinet bator. The temp has been holding a wonderful 99.3 or so and the Humidity has been between 50-55 the entire time so far. This is my first time using it and I am pretty happy w/the way it is holding up.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!

Me too! But this time I am trying someone else's eggs and lots more eggs. My test hatch with my LG still air was very sad. The bator works great, I think I made a bad choice on my eggs that I put in. We will see!
Have a mix of eggs....RIR, BR, Black Australorp (sp?), BO. Can't Wait till the 24th
