I have the same bator you have and this is my first time also. I just put my eggs in yesterday. If you look on the top of the bator, where the windows are, above and below each little window there are 2 small vent holes, they are about the size that coffee stir straws would fit in. There are several under the bator also. I do believe these are for plenty of fresh air when the plugs are in. I hope that helps relive your concern on the fresh air for them. It did mine when I was trying to figure out why my bator had all these little holes and it dawned on me fresh air

. I bought my bator last year and did not get to use it at that time, and during the summer the grand kids lost the directions to it

I was crest fallen. Then I found BYC in December and struck a gold mine of knowledge.

Sorry it has been so long since I have been online. My mom was admitted to the hospital Tuesday night with a very low oxygen sat. Level. We almost lost her Thursday, Yesterday she was doing much better and we came back home. I just hope that the incubator didn't do any crazy things while we were gone. I usually checked it every like hr at least, but it had only been checked twice since tuesday. I added a second sponge but humidity is still only around 40-50
What should I get it up to today as today is the day I will take them out of the turner and put them into the cartons for hatching. I will be doing this tonight after we get back from visiting mom. She is an hour and a half drive from here! I have to go back to work tue and wed but took Thu and Fri off so I can spend time with her, also my chicks hatch Thu night I hope she is home by then so I can bring them over to show her I know she would love that! Now if we can just convince her she needs to retire and stop smoking she might be around for a while longer. They say she has COPD. Cardio Obstructive pulminary disease. I tell you trying to talk to a dr is impossible!

to you and your mom. I don't know much about COPD but I know it's serious stuff. Best wishes that she recovers quickly.

I hope your eggs hatch well - I'm subscribing to this thread - I, too, have an LG 9200 and just could not figure out how to get the humidity up above 61% even with bowls of water, soaked sponges and wet folded washcloths. I'm starting a new hatch tomorrow but adding the auto egg turner this time.

Well when we candled them Monday night most looked great! A few I wasn't sure. It looked like something was in there all I could see was the air sac but I couldn't see the veins in them like I could the others. However all 4 or 5 of them where green. There where other green ones I could see through though. Even if 4-5 didn't make it How amazing is it that first time this many could even make it this far! Gives me hope I might do okay at incubating eggs!
Tomarrow is day 20 I wouldn't mind if a few decided to hatch early.
My mom should be getting out of the hosptial tomarrow so I will go down and visit her at home on Thursday, I took it off work. Friday as well.

I can't wait to see these babies!!!

Well they are early birds! Last night DH woke me up at 11:40 to tell me there was a pip. I looked and went back to bed thinking I would have a chick by morning. Even though it was a couple days early. Got up to find.... No chicks .... but 4 more eggs pipped.
First one finally hatched at 3:00pm Not the first one to pip though. 2nd was the first to pip. They are both a reddish color. Both our friends eggs.
We still have two white, 2 green of theirs pipped. The green ones are racing to see who can hatch first! and the one white one's membrane was drying very badly so I quickly added a paper towel over it dampened with warm water. I hope this helps.

Will post pictures later

Sad update. DH took white egg out and I peeled shell and it was dead. Don't know why that happened. So he decided to help the other white one and peeled back some of the shell. Hope it lives, He likes the white eggs.
