First Time IncubatingTHEY ARE HATCHING!!! PST#47 Early Birds!!!!!!!!!!

You can pull the red plugs if you are getting to much humitity. I have a hova and have usually had to pull mine in the last three days like when you see water droplets on the window. Good luck!

I am on day 12. just candled. out of 42, I think 3 are not fertile. I bought a cool-lite tester. I can candle without taking eggs out of bator. most of them are moving and I can see the air cells. I too am really afraid I am going to do something wrong. nice to know I am not alone.

So, you don't even take the eggs out to candle them? I was wondering how removing each egg to candle it was going to affect the whole incubation process. I didn't even cross my mind to just candle them while they are sitting in the turner...duh!

Thanks for saying something!

Well I candled Last night and the results where WONDERFUL! All the brown eggs and white eggs i could see good veining and even see the babys move around! It was so cool! The green eggs where very hard to see into. I could in a couple of the lighter ones the greyish blue ones but the deep olive green where impossible so I am just hoping they are doing as well. I only pulled the two double yokers I didn't think would grow but DH wanted to try so we did. The air cells looked good, maybe to big at this stage I will try keeping my humidity up a little bit more. I am so eggcitted something is growing! Now lets hope I don't screw it up in the next two weeks

IF they are to hatch on the 19th. When should I take them out of the Turner? I am going to use the egg carton method if I can fit enough egg cartons in. I have 25 eggs so I might just let one sit on the wire. unless one looks bad when we take them from the turner and candle them again.

YEAHHHHH:D

Hello to you too! How are you doing? Long time since I have talked to you. How are those BR doing?

The only way I can keep my humidity anywhere near what it needs to be is to keep both vent holes plugged. But don't they need some fresh air?? I Have no idea what to do! WHen I unplug one hole it drops to like 21-27% with them both plugged it holds around 40-45%

What should I do? I have a sponge in there and thats with soaking it once a day. It was still wet this morning but I rewet it anyway cause the humidity was at 21%

Help!

look to see if your bator has vent holes at the bottom. I have a hovabator and it does. I keep top vent holes pluged. what bator are you using? is it a still air or forced air? mine has a tray for water. I put a straw through the vent hole then use a large eye dropper to add water so I do not open bator.
