First time owning chickens

You might want to try some Turkens/Naked neck pullets. They are my favorite egg layers and very friendly.

from Kansas I started with pullets when I got chickens they were great then last year I go some chicks and this spring more chicks and if one of my ladies goes broody I will let her hatch some eggs. Chickens are addictive.
 
I'm a first timer, too. I have one buff orpington, one barred rock and one EE. Love those three girls. My barred rock just laid her first egg four days ago. Still waiting for the others. Welcome to us chicken fiends...

Went to the feed store today for coop supplies - so exciting! I'll post pictures of coop and flock as soon as soon as we're set up. Thank you guys so much for taking the time to solve our newbie problems! Looking forward to seeing you around. Rebekah
