First Time Raising Chickens (Any Help Appreciated)

Janet, I have 6 chickens.

This is our ramp to the roost before we expanded the coop. Our red stars use the ramp. The white leghorn just flies up.



After expansion.

What size was your coop before expansion?

Before expansion - 3' wide x 6' deep. North wall is 4' high. South wall is 5' high because of slanted roof.

After expansion - 6' wide x 6' deep. North and South wall stayed the same.

Our chickens LOVE the extra room. Their new roost is 6 ft long. We still have some painting to do yet.


We like using sand in the coop a lot better than wood shaving. It's a lot easier to clean.
